Q. Can I purchase clay targets directly from White Flyer for myself or gun club?

A. No. White Flyer does not sell direct. A distribution network is in place around the country with specific distributors. These distributors stock, sell, and deliver to both individuals and gun clubs.

Should you wish to find your closest White Flyer Distributor, call us at (800) 322-7855.

Q. What is the difference between the Standard AA Pitch Trap/Skeet Target and the AA Pitch Pheasant Target?

A. For the most part, they are identical at 108mm. The main difference is that the Pheasant AA weighs a few more grams and is built to be thrown further and faster than the Standard AA. Hence, we recommend the Pheasant AA for all Sporting Clays applications.

In terms of breakability, some shooters claim that the Standard AA’s "smoke" and break better than the Pheasants.

Q. I’ve noticed three or four small notches near the lip of the target where it is thrown from. What are these for?

A. The main purpose of these small notches is to keep the targets from sticking together due to moisture, etc. As the targets sit on top of each other, these notches allow for air circulation to prevent sticking.

Q. I’ve noticed that some White Flyer Targets have a "slot top" design while others have "golf ball style dimples". Why is this?

A. All Standard Pitch AA’s produced at our Central and Eastern Target Plants utilize the "golf ball dimple" design. All targets produced out of our Western US Plant have a "slotted" design. Why? Simply put, when we purchased the Western Plant it utilized the old Eclipse Target Company, and to the present we’ve continued that design. If you look at the White Flyer line of Biodegradable Targets, you will notice that we have incorporated this "slotted" design for their manufacture exclusively.

Q. Are the weights of all White Flyer Targets monitored during their manufacture to ensure uniformity?

A. White Flyer puts each target through a 27 Step Quality Procedure to ensure that each and every target is uniform and within weight specifications as issued by that sport’s governing bodies. No other manufacturer of clay targets is as demanding and complete in this aspect of target manufacturing.

Q. Do you do any preliminary testing of your targets before sending them out to the distributors and gun clubs?

A. Absolutely! For every lot number produced (the numbers on the side of the box), several cases are trapped using a variety of different clay target machines to ensure that these targets meet our exacting standards.

Q. What happens if I should have problems with White Flyer Targets I purchase or my club receives?

A. In the event you experience a problem, we want to hear from you. You can help us immensely by discontinuing use immediately and providing us with the lot numbers from the box when you contact us so that we can consult our logs for specific information about those targets. We will get back to you as soon as possible and do whatever is necessary to correct the situation.

We at White Flyer pride ourselves on our Customer Service. Should you contact us, we will get back to you as soon as possible and do whatever we can to correct the situation. This is the type of customer service that we feel separates us from all our competitors!

Q. What is the main difference between how a AA Pitch Target breaks and how a White Flyer Biodegradable Target breaks?

A. Because the Pitch AA Target is made of petroleum pitch, it "smokes" black, while the Biodegradable Target (which contains NO petroleum pitch or byproducts) "smokes" a grayish white color. Other than this, both targets break the same.
